We usually play Sunday at Jose Marti Park

Facebook to see where we're playing

Hello and welcome!! Miami Bike Polo came together in March of 2011 with the intent to make it easy for anyone interested in playing bike polo. It has really taken off and we can't be more excited. We are still working very hard to keep you informed and organized plus we've made a bunch of loaner mallets so all you need to do is show up with your bike. We play weekly games that we organize at Jose Marti Park, Sundays around 2pm. It's also a great way to just hangout with fellow bike riders and unwind.

So for now, check out our website, learn about the game, make yourself a mallet if you want and we hope to see you on the court and having a blast! And if you've never played before, no worries, we still have a lot of new and first time players, so we'll have beginner games going every time we play.

If you'd like to stay in the loop, 'Like' us on Facebook or follow us on twitter. If you'd like to be involved, just let us know! Start a discussion on our forum, post on our wall, tweet your thoughts, etc… we welcome and encourage any participation :) THANK YOU and see you all soon!!

North American Hardcourt Bike Polo Championship 2012

Friday, July 6, 2012 - Sunday, July 8, 2012

Host club:  Milwaukee

Court size:  145' x 60' 4 courts

TRANSPORTATION: What you will want to do now if you have qualified is book your flights. Fly into MKE or else fly into Chicago and take a bus/train up to Milwaukee. The Amtrak is cheap or the megabus or greyhound but they charge for bikes. You might actually save money by just flying straight to MKE if possible. From the airport take the Greenline bus or the #80 bus into the city. Supposedly Chicago is renting a party bus so talk to them about getting on board. Either way is cool and take you right downtown and close to the housing options

HOUSING http://www.mkebikepolo.com/wordpress/2012/05/31/north-american-champions...
If you were hoping to stay at a polo players house contact Brian Dillman.

Starts today at noon CDT.

Here's how it works folks. Please go to www.hardcourtbikepolo.org. If you are using a different team than any you have played with before, please CREATE a new team in your user profile. Simply click on your name in the upper right hand corner and you can "add a team". Once you have done this, as long as 2 out of 3 of the players are qualified, you will be allowed to register. Find the 2012 North American Championships in the main or tournament list. Register your team. Your team will NOT show up immediately. Don't panic! If 2 out of 3 players, at least, are qualified it will be approved. Once approved, it will appear in the list. You will have until June 15th to register AND pay. Should your team not pay on time it would be a consideration that you are not able to come. If that is the case you can also remove your team from the registration list yourself.

The registration will determine if a wildcard or any other invitations to play will be considered. The max allotted for this is 56 teams, no if, ands, or buts.

Team cost: $90/team
How to pay: PAYPAL to mkebikepolo@gmail.com [please send this as a PERSONAL GIFT so there are no fees] include your team name in the notes as well.
Deadline to register and pay: June 15th, 10 days from today.

If you have any questions about the registration process you can leave a comment or you can contact me directly. NAH is merely helping facilitate the registration process for the MKE Bike Polo Club. All other questions regarding the tournament itself can be directed to them. Thanks!

St. Cago Has Been Sold

Officially Announced on March 1st, 2012 via League of Bike Polo per Lucky:

It's a done deal! The new owners of St Cago Polo Works are Andrew and Eric of Miami Bike Polo.

They are enthusiastic polo players who were already making mallets for people with the same attitude I had about it, I.E. If you don't have the time/skills, or want a consistent product, use mine. If you want to make your own, jedi-knight-style, go for it. No hard feelings. A couple of modest, handy guys who want to contribute to the sport in the way they can. Look for them at tournaments all over. They've got plans!

So, at the end of March, they're coming up to Chicago to get the parts and tools and the run down on how the magic happens. After that, they're out of the nest and flying on their own. Look for lots of St Cago heads and brake levers to hit the market around tournament season this year. Hopefully, new products (or at least a quicker email response time) will follow.

Thanks to everyone who expressed an interest in buying St Cago, which was my life in polo for four years. So many great conversations with enthusiastic strangers-become-friends at tournaments and in emails over the years. I'll miss it.

Special thanks to Jason (now Sir Woadie from Portland), my first paying customer at NACCC's 2008. Riki from Tokyo and Gypsy from Sydney. You guys paid my rent with huge orders at a time when I needed every penny very badly. Thanks for justifying my gamble on polo supplies as opposed to quitting the biz and buying groceries. Machine Politics and Doug from NYC, the only riders I ever sponsored.

Everyone who ever played. From the grass days in Harrison Park to the Worlds in Seattle. You made it worth doing.

We can't tell you how excited we are! Thank you Lucky, we can't wait to carry on where you left off. You have been such an essential part of the bike polo scene and we promise to keep that going strong. We definitely have a lot of plans and ideas to offer great things to the bike polo community. It's been an amazing time for us, having just introduced Miami Bike Polo in early March last year.

We've been working hard since then to do everything we can for the scene here in Miami and every where else. Your offer could not have come at a better time. Andrew and I have been working on launching an online store to offer our hand made mallets and some other goodies in the works and we really were trying to get a respectable store together before we launched, so this really is the perfect scenario. It was meant to be!

So anyway, thanks again and we look forward to making you proud and strengthening the bike polo scene for everyone.
