Hello and welcome!! Miami Bike Polo has come together in the past year with the intent to make it easy for anyone interested in playing bike polo. It has really taken off and we can't be more excited. We are still working very hard to keep you informed and organized plus we've made a bunch of loaner mallets so all you need to do is show up with your bike. We have a couple weekly games that we organize at Riverside Park; Fridays at 7pm, except during critical mass, and Sundays at 1pm. It's also a great way to just hangout with fellow bike riders and unwind.

So for now, check out our website, learn about the game, make yourself a mallet if you want and we hope to see you on the court and having a blast! And if you've never played before, no worries, we still have a lot of new and first time players, so we'll have beginner games going every time we play.

At the corner of 2nd & Grace sits a vacant lot. And a ragtag band of friends from downtown Wilmington have turned it into their playground. At least twice a week, cycling advocates gather to burn some rubber playing bike polo.

The group is known as Port City Polo. Chris Barber, a member of PCP, reflects on the community that bike polo provided at a time when he lost hope.

Kubota Cup - a tournament honoring the legendary Kubota flip-flops organized by Bike Polo Club Cracow http://www.facebook.com/bikepoloclubkrakow

Each team went through a group stage on the first day, which seeded them into a double-elimination championship bracket on the second day. The cap was set at 16 teams.

Villa accommodation was provided to every out-of-town player by the Krakow community. A BBQ was organised on site.

/ when: 10AM on Saturday and Sunday, 14 - 15 of May 2012
/ court: 30x20m.

"Please note! The court surface isn’t perfect. We advise wearing thick socks and auto-levelling Kubota flip-flops to keep the reality in check."

MBP BBQ XIII - Sunday May 27th

After the Southeast Regionals Qualifier Tournament, Miami Bike Polo is amped up and ready to play! We'll be at Riverside Park setting up at 1pm. 

There will be pickup games all day. Beginners welcome! We'll have loaner mallets available for anyone interested in playing and of course, we'll show you the ropes so you can get a good feel for the bike polo experience ;)

Willie from Willie's Bicycles will be manning the grill, so bring some stuff to grill! Meat, Veggies, corn, etc... Also, Grolsch will be giving us a bunch of Grolsch beers! But don't be afraid to bring some too! 

So spread the word and see you all SUNDAY!!

Miami is creating bicycle culture in the city through the Bike Polo sport - a sport that has been around since the 1890's but is fairly new to Miami. Miami Bike Polo started up in April of 2011 and has been spreading with awareness since. Miami wants to take part in making sure Bike Polo gets the recognition its entitled.
They appreciate and welcome new comers, so, everyone come check it out!

I enjoyed working on this project - special thanks to everyone involved.

A final de Octubre de 2011 se llevó a cabo en Santiago de Chile el primer torneo sudamericano de polo en bicicleta o bike polo. Mas que una competencia deportiva esta fue una gran experiencia social para todos quienes formaron parte de ella.

MBP BBQ X Sunday 1pm at Riverside

It's that time again. Time for the 10th, monthly MBP BBQ, held at Riverside Park in Little Havana. This BBQ will be a little special however. We have a couple great contributers for the event. Big ups to Grolsch and The Miami Bike Scene for giving us some free Grolsch Beers!! And also thanks to Om Nom Nom, a local cookie company that will be giving us a variety of delicous, vegan cookies, thanks Constanza! Also, thanks to Willie of Willie's Bicycles for the BBQ! The MBP BBQ wouldn't be the same without him!
